Isn’t Life Strange?

It’s just after midnight and Hurricane Ike is getting closer. It is expected to affect us here in the Houston area for several hours. We’ll be dealing with some gnarly winds and several inches of rain….dude…. Currently in my area, things are not as volatile as they are south of here. Winds are growing stronger and the gusts are getting…. gustier however.

The lights have flickered a few times and the power cycled once, tripping the breaker in my computer’s power supply. I can hear the wind growing stronger and expect that within a few hours, we’ll lose power here. Perhaps that can hold off until morning, but I am not counting on that.

The local news has mentioned that people can expect to be without power for at least two weeks. If that happens, I have already made the decision to head out of town once I have my apartment secured and have confirmed that roads north of here are passable.
