A Traffic Surprise
Published November 29th, 2008 in JournalI got in the truck this morning and began making my way to Orlando. Tonight I am staying in a town called Quincy, just twenty miles west of Tallahassee.
The drive was not as pleasant as I had hoped. Rain spoiled most of it. If that wasn’t bad enough, I encountered an impromptu parking lot about 20 miles east of Pensacola. I could see emergency lights about a mile from where I stopped and assume there must have been a rather bad accident on the road ahead. Having nowhere to go, I put the vehicle in park and sat there for an hour before traffic began to move again. The sounds of raindrops and Jimmy Buffett kept me company during the long delay.
It doesn’t appear that the weather tomorrow is going to be any better. I’m hoping that will be the last of it.
