I’ve done some new things here at Walt Disney World over the past few days. Among them are the following:

I had a great night at the Magic Kingdom where I saw the “Castle Lighting” ceremony, the amazing Spectromagic parade, and the “Wishes” fireworks show. That evening also had Extra Magic Hours, extended hours for guests staying in the Disney resorts, and I was able to walk on any attraction without much of a wait.

I also enjoyed dinners at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and the Flying Fish. Both restaurants were excellent but the experience at the Yachtsman was no better than what you would have at any other upscale steakhouse. If you are craving a steak, then by all means go. Otherwise go to another one of Disney’s fine signature restaurants and fulfill your desire for red meat another time.

The Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster is an attraction that coaster fanatics shouldn’t miss. Though it is not a particularly long coaster, the launch is a scream-inducing experience.

I’ve also enjoyed the street entertainment around the parks. On Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom, I watched both The Dapper Dans and the Main Street Philharmonic entertain the crowds. At Epcot, I watched the Japanese drummers for the first time. And at Hollywood Studios there is always some kind of comedy act performing just around the corner.

I’ve not taken many photos in the past few days, but here’s one from a few nights ago at the Magic Kingdom. You can see more here.

The rock n roll roller coaster was a dissapointment after the fast start, which is certainly a one of a kind.
